SHARPENING
The sharpening stroke (also called "stropping") must always be in the same direction, away from the blade edge. Stroke the blade firmly approximately 15 times and make sure to cover the whole blade. Even better results can be obtained using the "reduction shaving technique".
SHAVING TIPS
Saving money again and again feels great, but if you would also like to improve your shave, then you may wish to try these tips:
1) Using a brush, apply shaving cream and do a first light "reduction pass" - and then a second pass, shaving the whole face with each pass. Follow with a buffing pass against the grain.
2) After shaving, it is recommended that you use a light aftershave cream.
The above gets the best results, taking approximately 5 minutes to perform; this technique allows exceptional shaves with blades lasting up to 5 months, or even more.
3) Keep the sharpener as dry as possible. Although it's treated to withstand moisture, if left in a pool of water or on the bathroom counter, the sharpener may warp. Sanitizing razors by soaking them in alcohol for several minutes, on occasion, is also recommended.
